Interfraternity Council

Interfraternity Council (IFC) serves as the governing council for the North American Interfraternity Conference fraternities on campus and other designated national umbrella organizations. The council operates under the direction of student officers selected from the membership of the fraternities and chapter delegates.

Alpha Tau Omega was founded on Sept. 11, 1865, to help heal the wounds of the North and South caused by the Civil War. Today, the heritage of ATO, including The Creed of Alpha Tau Omega, and the Christian principles upon which ATO was founded are as relevant as ever.

Sigma Chi (ΣΧ)

Through the acknowledgment and practice of the high ideals our fraternity was founded on, members of the Sigma Chi Fraternity find favor and distinction through the leadership skills and reciprocal bonds of friendship and true brotherhood made available to them through our fraternity. Sigma Nu (ΣΝ)

The Iota chapter of Sigma Nu is proud to be the oldest continuous fraternity on Samford’s campus. Established on campus in 1879, the Iota chapter is also the longest continually standing Sigma Nu charter in the nation. Throughout the past 123 years, Sigma Nu has maintained a distinctive place on campus. We pride ourselves on our selective nature and close-knit brotherhood. The men in our fraternity are committed to succeed in academics, athletics and Christian growth.

Alpha Omicron Pi (ΑΟΠ)

Founded in 1897 at Barnard College of Columbia University in New York, the object of Alpha Omicron Pi shall be to encourage a spirit of fraternity and love among its members; to stand at all times for character, dignity, scholarship, and college loyalty; to strive for and support the best interest of the colleges and universities in which chapters are installed, and in no way to disregard, injure, or sacrifice those interests for the sake of prestige or advancement of the Fraternity or any of its chapters.
